AWARDS

In 2003 Koers & Associates received an Award of Merit from the annual project awards competition of the Consulting Engineers of British Columbia in the infrastructure design and construction category for the Norske Canada – Port Alberni Division Pulp Mill Water Supply Main Replacement.  The project involved the design and construction of 6,000 m of 1350 mm diameter high density polyethelene buried pipeline.

The project was recognized for its innovative fish bearing stream crossings without disturbing the stream beds, sensitive rock removal methods next to the existing in-service above-grade woodstave pipe, and special foundation techniques applied for the new pipe across peat bog sections.
